E-File Guide: Collin

1. To E-File, you will need the Owner ID and PIN number on your Notice of Appraised Value:

2. Choose to login with your existing username and password or create a new account with your Owner ID and PIN number. Once you create an account, the CAD will email confirmation, then you can login with your newly created username and password.

3. Once you login select the Online Appeals link, which will take you to your Protest Summary listing all properties affiliated with your account and their protest status, whether you have filed a protest or not.

4. If you would like to protest, select the E-File Protest button in the top menu and you will be prompted to select the property you would like to protest:

5. Next you will be prompted to submit an Opinion of Value for your protest. We recommend selecting both “Value is over market value” and “Value is unequal compared to other properties” to maximize opportunity for a successful protest.

6. Use the value generated from your RealValueIQ report for your Opinion of Value, then add any comments in the Comments section to support your claim.

7. Click submit.

Congratulations! You have successfully submitted your property tax E-File protest. You should now see your updated protest status in the Protest Summary screen and will be emailed once a decision has been made by the appraisal district.
